• Developed and wrote a comprehensive and detailed marketing plan.
• Analyzed the company, its market, competition and clients to help develop a marketing strategy.

• Initiated and created a survey questionnaire to aid the market research.
• Identified and clarified the benefits of the services offered.
• Improved and provided fresh copy for brochures and other marketing communications using a benefit-approach writing technique.

Court Record Research, Inc.

This small service company has been in business for over 20 years. They offer expertise in public document retrieval, search and recording services, process services and medical records retrieval for law firms, attorneys, title plants and escrow officers.

In 2006 the company began expanding its service offering and decided to assemble an external support team to increase volume and awareness among its target market. The company did not have a dedicated marketing department and accepted my proposal to become their marketing intern for the summer of 2006.

Mediation Intern

2005 - Sept.-Dec.

• Gained insight to employer/employee discrimination issues by observing mediations.
• Observed how mediators and human resource representatives managed the mediation process during mediation.
• Learned about mediation and conflict resolution.
• Developed forms in a practical, visually oriented style using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Interpreted ideas then developed and designed EEOC marketing materials for outreach events.
• Analyzed fourth quarter mediator assignments.
• Conducted informal interviews with mediators and my supervisor to supplement research for my paper on EEOC Mediation.
• Performed other duties as assigned.

Selected from the University of Houston's academic internship program to become a mediation intern at the EEOC's Houston District Office.

The EEOC encourages the use of an alternative dispute resolution known as mediation. Mediation is an informal process in which a neutral third party assists the opposing parties to reach a voluntary, negotiated resolution of a charge of discrimination.
